MEDICINAL:
The essential oil of Bay Laurel is used in massage oils to treat arthritis and rheumatism. In aromatherapy, it is used to treat earaches and high blood pressure.
GROWING:
Also called Sweet Bay, this evergreen is native to the Mediterranean. It prefers warm climates, so those north of zone 8 will want to grow this plant in pots, taking it outside during the warm months. It prefers rich soil with good drainage, and full to partial sun.
